KV IIT Chennai with the strong support of the management headed by Chairman VMC, Prof Prathap Haridoss and the continuing guidance of the KVS and extra ordinary support of parents & students has earned a mark in the heart and minds of the stakeholders.

KV IIT Chennai caters to the all round and holistic development of the students and boasts of innumerable activities ,events,programmes organized with the sole purpose of uplifting the students spiritually, enriching them mentally, equipping them emotionally, building them physically and enabling them with skills to be worthy citizens and above all good human beings too.

The vidyalaya boasts of special skill development activities other than what is mandatory in all Kendriya Vidyalayas.This includes the school band, Road Safety patrol, NCC, Boy Scouts, Guides, Bulbul and Cubs.

The school has been taking up programmes to sensitise students about the environment and are Proactive participants in the Government initiated Swachch Bharat drive and Green school projects.

Students are given ample opportunities to develop leadership through projects like – INVOLVE Peer teaching programme, Robotics classes,Mushroom culture ,Reliance Football tournament, Alumni organized NEET JEE coaching classes to name a few.

Social interactions with fellow peers in other schools is encouraged to share and care with Government school students. The partnership with Govt higher Secondary school Velachery has promoted this feeling of brotherhood and community service both for the students and teachers.

To help students go beyond their text books and classes , knowledge sessions with Professors and faculty of IITM is a regular feature called” Talk to the professor” series lectures organized with the PTA of KV IIT on last working day of every month.

Career guidance through interactions with highly reputed Govt. organizations like the IITM, guiding students to prepare for NEET and JEE by organizing talks with experts are all part of the school activities.

Teacher development enriching programme are undertaken up regularly to share human resources within and outside the school so as to transfer them into useful classroom transaction tools and techniques as a teacher empowerment.

It is only with the unstinting cooperation of the PTA, Alumni and the team of dedicated teachers and staff of KV IIT that this institution has been making progress day by day and stand second in all India Government schools in the country.
